I had the pleasure to design and produce the shadow puppets to Jesse Baxter’s play, Blackfish. Wampanoag folklore, fishermen stories, and magical sea creatures are the context where the audience is immersed. The play happens inside of a tent called Wetu by the Wampanoags. The tent gave us the opportunity to create a 360 shadow puppet show interacting with the actor, who would come in and out of the tent. The puppets are made of cardboard, foam board, and paper.
